I read on an old BP web page that the VF1000RE still needs a lead additive in fuel, I have also just found a fuel station that sells 4 star. Would running an occasional tank of 4 star cause any problems? Is it a good idea to help with a bit of leaded?
Absolutely! In 1987, my owner’s handbook stated that you can run it on unleaded fuel provided that every third tank is leaded.
Put it in with all speed!
Speaking of all speed, you will notice a vast improvement in acceleration running on 4* when compared to unleaded.
