I have read that non oem paper air filters are restrictive and lead to rich mixture. Anyone got any reliable info on this? I have a K&N filter on my shelf which I have read is “more free flowing” and will give a leaner burn. I might fit this if any members can verify there is truth to the " internet facts"
I’ve always used the OEM paper filters on my VF’s, easy to get and not silly expensive. One VF I bought many years ago had a very dirty, choked up K&N filter, looked like it had never been cleaned in many years. I removed it and fitted an OEM filter. Never had an issue with them.
I suspect unless you’re racing, have modified exhaust and airbox, there’s little to be gained from a K&N filter.
