Best Tyres for F2

Does anybody have any recent recommendations for tyres? Bridgestone BT46 seem to be available, but are they any good?

Having used the BT45 in the past I’m sure the 46 is a fine tyre.

However at the price point,£237 for the pair, several of us have opted to go with radial tyres for literally a few pounds more(£240 for T31 in 110/80-18 and 150/70-17)

Dual compound tyres with more grip plus longer life made more sense.

I favour Bridgestones but some are using Dunlops and are equally pleased with the improvements in handling and longevity

I use Avon Road Riders as a nice middle ground mid price point option. Done many miles on them and never had any issues.

Thanks Bif - what effect do the different sizes have on handling? Also I’ve noted there’s not much clearance between the rear tyre and the chainguard - how does the 150 fit there?

Hi Deumayne - I’ve also used Road Riders on previous bikes, so they be an option - Thanks.

150 fits fine, there’s room for a 160 but that requires a wider rim.
The steering feels lighter,a lot less input needed to change direction and very stable too.

OK, Thanks - I’ll look into those sizes

I use the new MICHELIN ROAD CLASSIC.

Thanks - They look a little pricey - are they worth it?

Recently put a set of BT46’s on my F2 and have no complaints with them whatsoever.

Thanks - I’m still undecided, but will be looking to buy before the riding season is over.
