I have an issue… bike in all back together.. I noticed today it starts ok but the front Right and rear right cylinders ( as you sit on bike) are cold/warm nice spark from the plugs, fuel in the bowls.. what I did do while the engine was running I manually opened the chock on the front right carb and the revs increased and the exhaust got super hot instantly which it’s don’t do when you rev it normally… then it goes warm again… very odd.. carbs are spotless and refurbed. Any ideas peeps. Thanks.
I know what you mean now… that front right cylinder was running about 10 on the gauge the other cylinders were running about 5.5… I couldn’t get that higher running one down.. do you think that’s the issue?
No.4 carb is your base carb and has no adjustment,all other carbs are adjusted to match it.The vacuum it’s pulling suggests the tick over adjustment is set too low,when bench setting the carbs the tick over screw should be set to line the throttle plate on no.4 with the edge of the bypass hole on the carb body.If the other 3 carbs are set likewise you will be fairly close,and only need fine tuning.
All of this assumes that the idle mixture screws are properly set at 2.5 turns out
Thanks for the info Bif.. yes the mixture screws are 2 1/2 turns out… I shall tackle it this weekend hopefully I could do it with the carbs still on the bike. Don’t fancy taking them off again.
