Float level height question

Thanks, have just checked mine, and I had 125s in. I usually note what size , but had a 3 month break while away travelling and had forgotten.
Will fit, and when I get all the other niggling jobs finished before starting, will see how it goes?

Hey everyone,

I recently did a full clean of my carbs and set the floats to 7.5mm on my 84 1000f.
Have just synced them and set the mixtures. The rear left cylinder exhaust has a lot of fuel coming out of it. Starting to troubleshoot now, so thought maybe I didn’t set the number 1 carb properly. I attached a clear tube and opened the drain to get a gauge of the fuel level. Does anyone know if this level looks ok? And has anyone set the float while the carb is attached to the bike before?

Sounds like you may have a float needle that’s sticking open. If you’ve set the levels with the carbs on the bike, you may also be able to remove the float needle seat and flush it through to clear any debris…

Ended up taking the carbs off. Everything was free and float was 7.5mm. Anything else I should check before reinstalling them?
Cheers,
Will.

Does the float valve actually close off..?? As BobF mentioned, it may be a leaky float valve…this can have your #1 cyl running poorly. That level does look a tad high…but I haven’t checked mine like that for years…so I can’t really remember

Is the spark plug wet..?? It may not be firing properly.
