That’s what I was thinking, the difference is so miniscule that I cant see it affecting anything… They are installed now, have to torque everything down now and get the wheels back on… The tank and plastics are at the autobody shop getting all fixed up… Just a few little things to finish up and she should be ready for the road again… Been a good stretch of weather lately and been missing the ole girl… She is going to be a little different than last year… Painted the fork sliders, center of the rims, and valve covers gold, painted the calipers black and getting the body white with gold pearl, and a dark smoke wind screen… Have to put the factory cans on the exhaust since the yoshimura ones were destroyed in the crash…
sounds like its coming along nicely…
Ok, is one fork stachion suppose to be longer that the other? I installed the forks and the right slider sits about 10mm lower than the right one… The stachions on the wemoto website say that the right one is 7mm longer than the left, do I have them installed opposite or is that the way the sliders are supposed to be and they straighten out once the fork brace and the front wheel is installed?
Also the right fork spacer tube sits pretty much flush with the top of the stachion before the cap is installed and the left fork spacer tube sits about 15mm above the stachion
the fork legs should be equal at the top…from memory the fork tube spacers normally sit about 10/15mm above the tubes…on the bottom of the right fork damping rod there is a small cut out which must be lined up with the drain bolt on the slider or the the damper rod wont seat into the bottom of the slider properly…
there should be some grooves with wire circlips in the stanchions about 3 inch from the top, these push up to the bottom of the air joint thingy
yeah I have that drain bolt lined up with the cut out and the stopper clips are seated to the bottom of the air joint… I figured that the bushings on the slider and the tube were worn (even though they looked alright) and the tube was extending to the backup ring… I disassembled the forks and switched them out with another set I had from a set of forks I disassembled awhile ago and put them back together… much better now… its still about 2mm longer but once the weight is on it and the wheel and the fork brace are attached it should level them out
Have you put the little spring ( about 30mm long) back in the right place ? The anti dive side is different from the non A.D. I cant remember exactly where it went from memory but I know when I had the same issue as you have, I realised on disassembly I had got that wrong. All was well after that.

The rebound spring or the little oil lock spring at the end of the piston that has the two locking rings
Im just off for a while - will reply soon.
