It's that oil thing again!

Hulme End meet this year total miles covered 610 with an oil consumption of 3/4 of a litre. This was silkoline semi sinthetic 10/40.
One week later a trip up North total miles 645 with an oil consumption of less than 1/4 of a litre. This was Motul 3000 10/40 mineral oil.
Go figure, perhaps sticking to the recommended oil rather than “upgrading” is the way forward

That’s interesting.
I did 50,000 miles on a Ducati ST4s , and by far the best oil in terms consumption and oil performance was Motul 5100, not the fully synth angel tears that many Ducatisti insist on.

The second thing I did with the VF when I got it was change the oil and filter and 5100 is what’s in it now.

Can’t see much in terms of consumption to be honest. But 1/3 of a litre in anything less than 1,000 miles would be a concern. My Fazer thou’ (EXUP engine) doesn’t drink that much.

Oh sorry Bif I think that hulme consumption was from me thrashing the tits off your bike:star_struck::star_struck::star_struck::grin:
