At 19.53 hours , today Thursday July 2nd 2008…My 1984 VF1000FE started up for the first time in errrr. 14 years (I think)…I have captured the moment on v eye dio and when my son shows me, I will stick the historic moment on Youtube.
My wife has just gone out with her friend and both of them gave me a withering look as they left…They think I am very sad…
So, what’s left to do to the VF?..Air filter box back on, tank secured…check all bolts and fittings…then I have to get both side panels, one half of the front fairing, bottom cowl, and rear cowl sprayed up. All rubbed down and ready. I will get a match for the colours from RS Paints in Barnsley and look around for someone local who may be/have been in the spraying business [;)]
I think that’s about it…
Unfortunately though I wont have her ready for the Kelso Show in a week and a bit time…[:(]
PAJ, Bif, Alan Brown…you’re still going to the Kelso Show aren’t you[?]…I am still coming up to buy you a coffee and return the cam tool.( just one between all of you, I know how you all love thrift)…be up on Saturday…hoping also to meet a couple of mates with Blackbirds too…

got to say tim “it looks realy well now” and will even look better when all the body works sprayed and on…when you’ve finished this one, have you got plans to do another?..on a diffrent note, yesterday for the first time in three weeks, i found my self with a couple of spare hours for the vf,[:)]changed the cdi’s back to the originals,the bikes purring away nicly…just joined the aa tonight,in case of break down,this time tommorow when the cover kicks in,i can be recoverd from anywhere in the country,said the nice lady on the phone as she took my money, (marvelous)[:D]won’t break down now.[:o)]

Cheers Pete…next on the list is my '58 Thunderbird…a 3/4 finished project that had layed dormant for 9 years…when that’s done it’s an Iron Head Harley 1000 to start from scratch…[8D]
