I am the owner of a 1985 VF 1000F. My starter motor stopped working. Taking it apart showed oil had gotten inside. The oil seal must be worn out. I need a new seal but cannot get it from Honda.
I measured the shaft and Seating in the cover. The shaft is 13.5 mm and the seat is 24,03 mm and the thickness is 6 mm.
I cannot fint an oil seal that size. I can find a seal ø13/24x6 or ø14/24x6. Does anyone have an idea of witch one will fit the best.
You can buy a starter repair kit for them on fleabay, this contains all the parts required to repair the starter, including the shaft seal.
