Hi guys,if we don’t know it’s broke how can we fix it?I will flag the problem up to PAJ who is the brains behind this forum. The fork problem is due to two types of caps being used.FE and R models use 51450-MB6-611 and 51454-MB6-611 while all 18" wheel models use 51450-MB6-631 and 51454-MB6-771.
An easy fix only requiring the right parts, here’s hoping fixing the Email function is as easy

Thanks bif, I hope you don’t think I was bitching, it just struck a chord with seemingly the same problem so I thought I would see if it was just my account or if it was a board wide issue.
Hopefully it will be a simple setting change or similar and it will fix the problem.
I started another topic to try to ascertain if it was just my account, could you please delete that topic now bif?
Regards, Tony

I don’t think subscription emails have ever worked to be honest due to a combination of the Forum software and the hosting I am using for it.

I am planning a Forum upgrade that I am sure will untwist your panties nicely.

Woooo! Great improvement! Nice work!

Thanks a lot,
Fred

Hi All,

Just a quick update on the forks. With the help of a replacement set of forks from wdavie (top man!) I have had a good set of forks made from the the originals and the replacements. Unfortunately, due to other commitments it took over 6 weeks to get the bike back and now she doesn’t want to start. The starter motor works and she tries to catch, but just cant get there. I think its a carb problem. with 6 weeks inactivity shes complaining. As the bike has done over 50k I think it is due a good carb clean. Winter job I think. Ive had a look under the tank and theres a lot going on with linkages etc. Never mind, i will take lots of pictures before I attempt to remove them so it shouldnt be too stressful! I have just viewed a youtube video which showed a guy converting the four carbs to a single carb from a VW car! Any one tried this?
