1000R and 1000FF crankcases

Hey guys, might have a line on a borked 1000R engine.

Are the rank cases of the 1000 FF and 1000R close? Will R barrels and heads go down onto a set of FF cases? With the R crank for the gear driven cams, of course.

The crankcase is basically the same with the exception of a drilling for a bolt,and machined face in the cam chain tunnel which supports the lower part of the gear tower.

I have a complete spare FF engine that came form mine. the 1000R engine has a rod out the cases, but the rest looks OK.
