Hello there! I am new to this forum and was directed here by a kind stranger I met on Facebook marketplace. For reference I’m in the San Mateo/ Bay area in California.
I’m trying to sell my 1985 VF1000R. I’ve only owned it’s for a few months. I was riding it up until a couple weeks ago. Mileage is at around 38,000 miles. I’m selling the bike because I don’t have the time or the money to source 40-year-old parts for an extremely rare bike that Honda only made for three years.
Now here are the main issues, it’s missing the oil cover fairing; it was riding fine for a couple weeks after I got it back then bleh dead one day. I’m almost certain it’s a battery issue or some kind of wiring issue because when I use a jumper kit, the bike starts right up. I think the previous owner may have laid it down as well because the front right brake lever is bent. It also looks like the foot pegs were messed with because the front does not match and the rear is missing a foot peg. The paint is no longer OEM one of the previous owners painted it white and gold. It does look really good in my opinion, but it’s not the original paint. There are also some random screws on the bike that are not OEM.
Other than those issues, it does run and ride. The tires are in good condition. I replaced the front rotor and replaced the brake pads and had all the fluids changed. Unfortunately, since I’m new to the forum, I can’t post any photos or videos but if you hit me up I can provide you with the receipt for the most recent service that I had done on it along with photos of the bike in its current condition. Keep in mind you’ll probably have to tow it out of here because like I said the battery is dead. I’m really not familiar enough or mechanically inclined enough to take on a project like this so I’m just trying to find it a better home. Best way to reach me is probably WhatsApp, here’s my number: 6504579552
