Alright, you gurus. I have a few questions and need some assistance.
My VF1000R (edit) was running pretty hot. It got hot enough to boil over after a pretty hard ride. I have since changed the thermostat and the fan switch, drained the coolant and currently have Evapo-Rust Thermocure in the the system. I’ve taken it on a few rides and the temperature is normal now. It stays in the lower third of the gauge, never getting higher, even after long, hard runs above 9,000rpm. I’m satisfied the system is healthy.
But now I need to flush the system to get all of the Thermocure out.
I figured I’d remove the hose at the water pump and on the exit side of the thermostat housing and flush the radiator that way, back and forth.
I guess I also need to remove the thermostat again to flush the engine, but are there plugs in the heads that need to be removed to get it all out?
Also, is modern anti-freeze compatible with this engine?
And last but not least, will any motorcycle motor oil that is wet clutch compatible work?
Thank you all in advance.
