And so the closed season begins

Switchgear is pretty similar wiring wise but required extending.Right hand side is as vf but the left hand required a feed for the headlight and the main beam warning light had to be twinned off the main beam supply.
Colours are the same too which eased things a bit.

As the present lockdown means the season is still of,I thought I would update on progress with what should have been project 1
The school engine was totally stripped and built from the ground up!
image
Plenty of stripped m6 threads, the odd m8 but all m9
threads were intact.
It was a joy working with brand new parts even if they are 36yrs old
image
engine complete it was time for it to meet the frame
image
PAJ located a Devil header in Germany and shipped it over.
It was blasted, which showed up some damage from bottoming out on too soft suspension.
It’s now plated up and has a fresh coat of XHT black
image
the next job was to get the pipe fitted and see what is required by way of a tail canimage
It would appear the exhaust is from an R so the passenger footrest was in the way, time for some minor mods
image
once a suitable end can is sourced,I will fabricate a support bracket.
A battery has been connected and all electrical work as they should.
I’m particularly pleased with the indicators, they are identical in shape to the standard FE item but 2/3 the size.I believe they are from the 250 two stroke Honda of the era.
Still plenty to do so no chance of being bored just yet
Stay safe chaps and we will live to ride another day Bif

Looking good bif, i remember devil selling those exhausts when I got my first fe, it would be nice to drop on an original devil end can.
