Hey guys, I’m new to the forum. I bought a 1984 Honda Interceptor vf750f for 900$ and I want to do a sleeper build of sorts. I want to turn it into that Honda Civic with a laptop kind of deal. I know it’ll be expensive, but I like to push limits, see what fails, fix it, then push all over again to see what fails next. I like the V4, and I know it’s bad for camshaft wear. I plan on fixing that, but anyway, I want to EFI swap it and then eventually twin turbo it. From my research, the GSXR 750 throttle bodies are able to split into two, so I’ll be able to retrofit it to the V4, but I want some information from others’ perspectives, so thanks in advance.
Interesting thoughts….EFI is certainly doable I would think…twin turbo..?? Not sure about that, the bottom end, clutch and gearbox may not handle it well.
Smithy.
Hmmmm, sounds interesting?
Ive seen lots of “hot” build ideas gor VFs over the years. Usually the limits of space, and having to pioneer your own mods to suit the V4 become the stumbling block.Like Smithy, the idea of twin turbos seems a bit far fetched for consideration of space and location.
Here in Aus there was a guy on this forum who turbocharged a VF FF. Used a single SU carb, I saw the bike at a show in Bombala maybe 2009. If you search this forum you may find some of his posts.
From memory, he had overheating, and then bearing issues?
Best of luck, I love Honda VFours, but if i really wanted to build a big hp bike I’d go Suzuki, and know of a local guy with a turbo Hyabusa who has a reliable, huge RWHP bike from commonly available components and a good tune.
