The battery is getting very warm on my VF and the meter shows 18 volts at the battery when run at 3000 revs.This looks to high to me.What should the maximum output of the regulator be?
14.5 v maxi. Your regulator is shot! :-\
Yes I thought it would be the regulator/rectifier.I managed to get a good genuine Honda unit second hand off ebay.All is well now and charging at a maximum of 14.25 volts.
