Hello, I’m new to this forum, and to the VF1000RF. The bike was purchased from a collection, not run since 2014 and only 100 miles since 2006. First job is to overhaul the carbs, then new tyres, hoses, fluids, filters, chain, etc. Is there anything else I should be looking at? Thanks. Robert. Dorset, UK.
Welcome to the nut house…Pop the rocker covers off and check cams & rockers for the dreaded damage…re-adjust clearances etc. New spark plugs wouldn’t go astray.
Check rear shock as they can sometimes lock up if not used for a long time, they weren’t much good even when new…there are alternates which work very well.
Smithy.

Thanks very much. Yes, I have read about the cams but because the bike hasn’t run for so long, I’ve not attempted to start it for a listen. I will do the full service and keep tou posted.
I bleive that tyre choice is limited here in the UK. The ones on the bike are unused, but 20 years old.
Thanks again.
