Petrol Tank - is it same on the 1000F as on the 1000R

I’m beginning to make some progress with my searches for either a 750F or a 1000F.

I have seen a VF750F and a VF1000F.

The looks of the VF750F are more to my taste (the red and white would blend nicely next to my CB1000 Big One) and I wondered if its possible to make the VF1000F look a little bit more like a VF 750R/1000R…….. then I would have the best of both worlds!.

I appreciate the fairings would be more problematic. My reasons for asking this are entirely age related as I understand the R may not be right for me comfort wise whereas a 1000F that had the R tank etc etc on it would probably give me a riding position that would be right for me.

Hoping someone out there can help.

I think before making any decisions you should try an R for size.I’m 6’2/63 yrs old and find the ergonomics pretty spot on.Gaz who rides with us has to be 6’7 and finds the R very comfortable.The R tank is longer than the F so using the standard seat could be problematic.Moving the seating position back on the F may not work out so well either ergonomically.

Thanks for the advice and the info - useful to know how you and your friends find the riding position to be on the R version. I will see if I can find an R thats not too far away and try it out for size but I suspect the 1000F I have seen will not be around for long so I’m against the clock.
