Seems like my VF1000RE is chewing up plugs for some reason. Come to start and 1 or 2 cylinders will not fire. Clean plugs and next startup different cylinder.
Plugs are a little sooty but not anything like stopping a spark. Cleaned a regular plug but spark is jumping all over the place not just the electrode. But with spark it should fire??? Cleaned an Iridium plug and cylinder fired right up.
Have I got some sort electrical issue causing this??
I don’t have a multimeter to check any electrical items.
Tomorrow I am going to get 4 new plugs and see what happens.
Poor coils and plug leads can cause all sorts of dramas…if originals, they are 40 years old. I started my bike in the dark with the tank off and there were sparks jumping around all over the place…from coils to earth, from leads to heads…litterally looked like a fireworks display. New 3 ohm coils, plugs, plug caps and leads sorted it…starts and runs beautifully now.

Thanks for the reply Smithy. What brand did you use?
Here’s a link to my “in the shed” thread…most of the info is in there.
