Replacing rocker arms on rear head

Hi everyone,

as I finally got my hands on an affordable rear inlet camshaft and also on two nice rocker arms, I wonder if it’s possible to install the parts without removing the engine or head. The workshop manual says the camshafts can be changed without engine removal, but there’s no word about replacing the rocker arms.
I think the question ist if there is enough space between the rocker arm bolts and the frame to get the bolts out…

Has anyone tried it yet on an FE model?

Thanks!

Hi Yes I have had this problem, the Bolts do not come out enough to let the Rockers out because the Frame gets in the way. I did try and lower the engine a Tad to allow them to clear the Frame but the Carbs and everything seem get in the way and in the end I removed the Engine.
