Earlier this year I acquired from a long time friend, a 1986 VF1000R with only 7800 miles. He bought the bike new back in 87 and hasn’t been ridden since 1996. He had it sitting in his garage the past 31 years. This spring, he called me and said to come get the bike so I had it shipped to Modern Classic Sportbike Restorations (@mcsr_52) in LA Grange CA. As of today, it’s almost completed with new rear YSS shock, tires, battery, coolant flush, carbs cleaned. It’s on the final phase of restoration with just the front forks, brakes, and clutch being serviced… should have it ready by the end of the month. I’ll have spent around $3500 with new parts and labor

I’ve watched most of his (MCRS) videos. His six part VF1000R recommission is really good. I’ve tried, without success, to contact him to talk to him about possibly repairing the crack in my fairing and a complete repaint. Do you have his contact info, email, phone number, anything? I’m considering attempting the job myself.
Thanks,
Gil

I just realized that I didn’t thank you for his information. So, thank you.

Your very welcome. I hope you were able to contact him and sort out your fairing issue.
I haven’t done that yet. I’ve been to busy, like most people. We do want we have to do before we can do what we want to do, and then we are usually out of time.
