I am looking for a seat tail backrest the type that is hinged and folds up blue in color with the 1000 emblem in white.
also looking for engine cowls any help in finding these items for 84 vf 1000f interceptor would be much apprecated

Your only real hope for these is the might ebay. I saw a seat cowl for the F for sale a couple of months ago in Canada. For the engine cowl do you mean the standard front cowl, or the larger fairing that was available at one time? These are REALLY rare, not sure where you would find one now.
The mega eBay search at vf1000.com is a good place to start, it finds a lot of good VF1K stuff on eBay
