While taking the carbs apart today I noticed a small hole in the rubber flutes and a small notch in the housing.. is this important when they are put back together? Maybe have to line up? Can’t rely see any purpose! Thanks Sean.
I believe the little hole in the velocity stacks is possibly a drain hole and I suspect it should face the “lower side”.
Can’t say I’ve seen them in my set….although I haven’t looked that hard..

The little hole in the rubber velocity stacks lines up with the little notch in the alloy housing. Don’t know what the function is, but that’s definitely how it’s meant to be…

Hi putting the carbs back together today with new Viton o-rings…
Th little hole in the rubber flute has a line up marker which I have just notice, please see pics. Hopefully this will help others who are not sure.. 
note the raised notch on the flute and the 2x markers on the casing, when to notch is between the 2 marks the little hole in the flute lines up with to notch on the casing.. happy days
