Tyres - again

Been looking at tyre options for the FF. Currently if has a dunlop sport 140/80/17 on the back and a pirelli match 110/80/18 front. I would like to change to 150/70/17 on the back as there are a wider choice available ( and a bit more rubber) Will 120/70/18s work on the front?

Bridgestone 023s have both of these sizes. Availability and types have changed since the previous forum recommendations. How about a sticky with the sizes for each model (FE, FF/F2 and R) and recommendations/feedback on makes?

I bought Michelin Pilot Road 2, in 150/70x17 size for my F2F. Since the tyre is sligtly smaller and with R-engine’s different gearing I feel, that I need to have slightly smaller rear sprocket.
A Norwegian fellow (driving a F2F too) is using 110/80x18 in front, and 150/70x17 rear and he is happy with it.

Thanks Paj I did search for all the tyre posts and read this one but those Avons are no longer available. I was looking at the Contiforce or conti road attack as they have good reviews on VFRworld etc and are a very reasonable price.

We are using a set of michelin macadam 50’s on our F2F,110/80-18 and 140/80-17.I have a set of BT023’s on another bike and the reviews are spot on.Lots of mileage out of the harder centre compound with bags of grip wet or dry from the softer sides. We will be going for a set of these in 110/80 and 150/70 once the michies wear out. They are a bit pricey but worth every penny.BIF

I have the Avon roadriders in the correct VF sizes on my FF and on my 500F2F and they are really good.Easy to get hold of and £170 a pair.
