Anyone use home made ultrasonic cleaner fluid for their carbs. If so, what did you use?
Finding it difficult to find some in shops here in Australia.
Simple Green and extreme simple green to finish off
I put clean water in the cleaner and put the solution in a plastic jar with the parts.
Keeps the wastage of cleaner down try calling aircraft maintenance places
The extreme simple green is designed for aluminum parts
I just use garden variety isopropyl alcohol in a plastic/glass container as “kiwihonda004” mentions. Works fine. If there are stubborn deposits I bring them to my work and use the wallnut shell blaster…
Smithy.
For bigger parts I use a plastic bag as will mould around it.
The extreme simple green brings up aluminum really well 30% solution.
Blackwoods sell this, just sit down waiting for the price if you need to.
I wish I had a walnut blaster.
What dilution rate did you use with Extreme only 30%?
Reading the info on it, heavy cleaning is 1:1 but could corrode metal?
No mention of what metals though. Mild cleaning is 1:13 with no corrosion of metals. With 30% you noticed no adverse effects after cleaning but got a very good clean?
Rather expensive as you mentioned.
To save money I use standard simple green after a degrease first.
Have tried dishwashing liquid waste of time so went this way.
65 degrees temp for me. Not recommended to put hand in machine when going.
