VF1000F fuel pump and filter replacement

My 1984 US VF1000F needed a new fuel pump and filter. Stock fuel pumps aren’t available, obviously, so I looked to see what would take its place. I wanted a new filter too and uses stock wiring.

I started by first purchasing a fuel pump that fit in well (I just had to put a rubber spacer so the white clamp that holds the fuel pump in would hold it in tight:
This is a new fuel pump by Bomba (16700-MB6-631) and the ebay title was “1985 Honda VF1000 Interceptor Fuel Pump repl. 16700-MB6-631,16700MB6631 Bomba”. The picture is not what I received. The ebay seller is: electricfuelpumpfactory3457
It was eBay item number 393682256707 when I purchased it.

And this fuel filter fits perfectly, and can be cleaned and is visible: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C77DNKJG

And for good measure, I got a new Fuel Relay (36100-MB1-701) from amazon (plugs in perfectly) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B19NZYHG

I also bought thick, high quality fuel line. It takes a sharp bend, but you can see that with a strong fuel clamp positioned at the bend, the hose will not easily kink. I tested about 3 different kinds of fuel hose that I had in the shop to get the bend not to kink and starve the pump for fuel.

Here is the finished result:

Thanks for taking the time and effort to write that up will come in useful at a later date for me. thank you

You bet! I’d get this fuel pump. The one I listed stopped working. May have been a fluke from the pump.

Ignore - Figured out the placement and the pump works perfectly. I have an 84 VF1000F i’m bringing back from the dead. The fuel pump did not work do I decided to take it apart in see whats going on… the armature was frose and pump cavity was pretty dirty. Cleaned it all out and freed up the armature which now works with the application of 12v to the coil. My big problem is when removing the rear cover the spring on the switching portion came dislodged before I could see exactly how it sat in place. So here’s my question…
Any body have an old fuel pump the could talk the cover off of and shoot me a pic of the correct sprinf and switch positions?
Thanks Harry
