Ha good news! By combining all the separate PDFs I have reduced the size to just less than the original manual at 176.3 MB Still over my server quota but easier to manage. It is also fully searchable which should save time when hunting for specifics.
OK I have now uploaded the old (now searchable) manual and the FF one to a temporary server.
Download them now at http://www.intermove.net/vf
Enjoy!
Oops forgot about this thread, putting the files on my server is no problem, at the moment having problems getting them from your site, will try again tommorow and get back to you. Thanks for posting them!
Peter,
Sorry Skullster but the downloads from your intermove.net site are not working for me, can see the files but cant download or open them in the browserâŚ
Hi Paj Try right click and save link as or save target as. Works fine for me using Google Chrome and IE9. I cannot find a facility to PM you from the forum, am I missing something?
Nothing was working in chrome or IE, but is ok grabbed them via a wget. Thanks for the files.
New versions of the service manuals are now up on the site, many thanks to Skullster!
Glad you managed to get them off Paj. Its good to be able to give something back for all the great advice Iâve had so far from this site.

Working links to the manuals are under the resources tab on the main site page http://vf1000.com

New owner here, sort of. I have a US spec 1985 VF1000R that I bought 3 years ago, as a project bike. Just now getting to it. I have a feeling I will be on this board often.
On the topic of a service manual, I downloaded the one for the VF1000F from the main site.
I cant imagine that there are too many mechanical differences between the âFâ and the âRâ, other than the forks and lower stanchions.
What other differences are there?
Thank you
-Drew in Illinois, USA.
Hi Drew,
sorry but in fact nearly everything is different ⌠The frame is different, the engine ,although looking similar are internaly different as are the rear brake, the ECUs and the carbs. On the site there is a VF1000R manual.
Sure, most of the dismantling /rebuilding tips are more or less the same.On the VF1000F you have chain driven cams versus a cam gear drive on the RâŚ
Thank you.
I have a owners service manual, and only found a parts manual for the âRâ on the website. Am I looking in the wrong place?
:-[ The link does not exist any more on the site! So,youâll find the manual here:http://v4musclebike.com/hondavf1000r.zip
Enjoy,
Fred
Thatâs the owners service manual. This will give me all I need to know, if I feel the need to tear this motor apart?
Thank you for sending.

Fred
