I have ran across a 1984 VF1000F in the U.S. and was wondering how rare these bikes are and how much they are worth. Also wanting to know what problems to look for, etc. It has 39,000 miles on it and the owner says it runs and rides good. It looks kinda rough, paint/decals faded, seat is coming apart at the front, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I decide to buy this.

That is how I got mine, it wasnt running and needed a major makeover! I believe the KBB is around $2400 if its in real good shape, I would thinks anything under $800 would be good if it dosent need engine work. Parts are still around on e-bay, cmsnl etc. My bike did not run had been layed down but had a clear title, I payed $350. It took all winter and around $400 in parts plus ALOT of elbow grease! I got it started two days ago!!!
