Can anyone tell me the difference between the 1984 and the 1985-86 rear shock absorber.
The top mount on the 84 shock is 4mm wider than the 85 and is 10mm shorter from top to bottom eye

Thankyou for the reply,i need one for my 84 fe could the top mount of an 85 model be reduced the 10mm extra in the length should not be a problem,in the uk there are a lot more later shocks around.
The 85 top mount is narrower than the 84 so only requires a washer fitted at either side to be a perfect fit.
The extra length raises the rear of the bike and helps it to turn in a lot better
