I’m not familiar with the VF1000R crankcase details but I’m guessing this is not a standard feature. It looks like a previous repair of the lip retaining the bearing behind the clutch.

err, no… There were other “internal modifications” found like a broken oil pump mount and a broken water pump drive tang. Someone has had some fun in there. Fortunately it’s nothing that can’t be fixed.
