VF1000R front wheel rebuild

Hello everyone,
I have a VF1000R front wheel with rusted bolts that I want to rebuild.
Is it possible to get new bolts or is sandblasting a better option? I have seen the titanium bolts but those are only as a set for front and rear.
And what would be the torque for the bolts?

I have the nice Titanium bolts from Ian in the UK…I did both front and rear of my '84 RE. The threads are 8mm so 19nm will be plenty. Use a small amount of medium strength 243 Loctite.

The new Titanium bolts use a normal 6 point Torx driver, the originals are a strange 7 point setup, you won’t easily find a tool to get them out…you’ll need to drill the old ones out with a 9mm cobalt drill. The holes in the spokes and wheel rims are 10mm so no issues drilling with 9mm.

The bolts have a 10mm diameter shoulder for the 10mm holes.

Thank you for the information, I have seen titanium bolts online but they are too expensive for me because I intend to use this wheel as a decorative piece. And my RG already has pristine original bolts, so it’s not worth it for me to go to titanium on those.

Yes they are very “spendy”…but they are beautifully made and finished…you cannot buy the original bolts anyway…so if they need replacing, you don’t have many choices.
