Hi people, working on a couple of old VF750f’s and rear calipers are damaged, will VF1000 calipers fit as there seems to be more choice and better prices TIA
Having just looked am I correct in thinking one of the front calipers is a straight replacement
A vf1k rear is a straight swap, the pistons are 2mm bigger in diameter tho.you may find you have a slightly longer pedal than original but will work fine as the master cylinder is the same on both the 750 and the 1000.DONT use a front caliper, the rear is wider and using a front leads to the brake seizing on

Many thanks, knew it would be worth while joining site, get ready for more enquiries, never owned a VF before, now got 2 at once
Welcome to the forum, good to have you along.
There is a lot of crossover between the 750 and the 1000 and instances where using 1k parts will be an upgrade for your 750,there are plenty of knowledgeable owners here happy to share their experience.

I read somewhere that rebuilding the engines is not easy due to lack of parts, correct or not?
Are the 750 and 1000 engines swappable?
They are if you stick with the E model. To be honest parts are becoming harder to find for both
