I know this is a long shot, but sometimes long shots come in. ![]()
I’m in need of a seat cowl for my 86’ VR1000R. If you have one for sale, please let me know.
Here is what I have.

Unless you find a NOS item(they do turn up)you will be hard pushed to improve on what you have second hand.Your photo seems to show a heel scuff and a few others scratches,If the cowl is complete it may be worth visiting a bodyshop to see if the finish can be cut back and re lacquered
I initially thought that the cowl was red plastic, not painted. I didn’t inspect it very carefully or remove it from the bike. I realized about a week ago it is painted. But the scuff isn’t from a heel. While being shipped it was next to another bike, side by side. My bike’s front wheel was pointing to the passenger side of the trailer, the other bike’s front wheel was pointing to the driver’s side. They were so close that the other’s bike’s clutch lever rubbed my bike’s cowl constantly during the trip.
Anyway, now I realize it is painted, I can correct it. I’m going to repaint the fairings, cowl, tail piece, etc this winter.
