If you need to mail me then use stableengineering@o2email.co.uk and it will go to my Blackberry or Alan@stableengineering.co.uk and this will go to my pc.
I will get the kits together by the end of the week hopefully.
Cheers
Alan.
I now have the oil lines in stock and all the fittings, washers etc.
I have made ten sets to start with and will make more if there is enough demand.
Kits will all be together for the start of next week.

Had a lot on my plate as it were and I’m afraid it just slipped my mind.
Can’t take your offer on sorry…have spent far too much on bikes and bits recently that SWMBO would …well, let’s just not go there at the mo’ eh![B)][:)]
Although I have a Dave Dodge kit already sitting in a box in the workshop, I am impressed with your ‘get it done’ attitiude Alan. As an topic of interest, I came across a VF1000FE outside my local dealer the other day, in for a service. But what intrigued me was its unusual take on the oil mod theme. If you can picture the oil pressure switch above the clutch cover, this had been removed and replaced by a one off machined extension approx 50mm high, which was screwed into the hole where the stock switch goes. This extension had a drilled and tapped hole on its outer face, where the original pressure switch was refitted, but then the top was also drilled to accept two braided steel oil lines for the heads. Has anyone else heard of or seen this method of increasing the oil pressure to the heads? Does it work? Was it a kit or somebodys home brewed solution? I’m unaware of anyone with such a mod, but logic suggests it would work quite well, and it certainly was a tidier installations with out yards of braided line wrapped around the motor, just 2 short lengths from the pressure switch take off to each head!
Could be a neater way of doing it,cheaper too as lines would be half the length but my concern would be that it still uses dirty oil rather than fresh filtered oil.I have a spare motor in the workshop so i will knock something up and have a look.
I also wondered if it might upset the function of the oil pressure switch, as oil would not be simply pressurising the switch, but circulating past to the heads.
Hi, don’t do the oil mod in this way.
I’ve got a used FE engine which has the oil feed taken from an mounted where the oil pressure switch is usually mounted, the pressure switch is then screwed into this adaptor.
The cams on this engine are shot.
Have read on one of the forums that the oil flow via the pressure switch gallery is issuficient to supply the camsand can be worse than the stock setup.
Hope this helps…
wont bother with that way then
See, I knew someone here would have the answer!! Perhaps I should inform the owner of the bike, or maybe it’s too late now??!!!
Found a link to more info if its of interest.
Another point I remember now is that with the Dave Dodge ‘spin on’ adaptor mod I have, it is necessary to fit a different(read shorter) oil filter as clearance is reduced between the filter and the exhaust down pipes with the adaptor fitted. I had heard that one from a Gold Wing fits, but which model/part number I have no idea. There is also a K&N replacement of the correct size, but again I don’t know the part number. Can anyone enlighten me?
The filter for a CBR1000F also fits,KN 303 or Hiflo 303.Just checked, this filter also fits GL1500 and Blackbird too.I think the nut fixed on the KN filter may cause some clearance issues.Regards BIF
Cheers bif. Noted.
I use the K & N 303 filters with my oil kits, they are the best quality.
